How to Choose Headphones: Fit, Connection and Use

Comfort comes first

Earbuds, in-ear, on-ear and over-ear headphones feel different. For long sessions, consider clamping pressure, weight and ear-pad materials. A photograph cannot tell you how comfortable a pair will be for you; trying them is more useful than comparing looks alone.

Then check connections

Decide whether you will use a phone, computer or another device. Wired models need the right connector. With wireless models, consider charging and battery life; simultaneous connections to multiple devices need checking separately. TWS does not promise a particular fit or noise cancellation.

Separate your use cases

Compact size and noise cancellation can help when travelling. Calls require suitable microphones and device compatibility. For sport, check secure fit and the specific model’s declared protection. A series name or colour does not replace specifications.

Mondo and other brands

Start with the format, then compare Mondo, Marshall and JBL models for the features you need. A special edition may differ from a standard version in more than colour. Do not transfer specifications between similarly named models.

Your buying checklist

Write down your main use, preferred fit, device and budget. Shortlist a few options using those criteria. Evaluate extra features after comfort and compatibility, not instead of them.
