Choose your headset by checking the device you will connect it to. Quantum 100 uses a 3.5 mm jack, while Quantum 350 Wireless uses its supplied USB adapter. This difference matters more than the model number: it determines whether audio and the microphone will work with your computer or console.

PC: check the ports first
Quantum 100 has one 3.5 mm plug for headphones and microphone. A desktop with separate sockets may require a suitable headset splitter. Plugging it into a headphone-only output will not automatically connect the microphone. Check whether your laptop has a combined headset socket.
Quantum 350 needs a free USB port for its adapter. Select the headset as both audio output and microphone in the operating system and voice-chat app. QuantumENGINE adds settings on PC; working console audio does not mean the same software features are available there.
PlayStation, Xbox and Switch: what to check
JBL lists Quantum 350 wireless compatibility with PlayStation, including PS4 and PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Check how you will connect the USB adapter in your intended play mode: handheld use and a dock offer different ports.
Do not choose Quantum 350 for Xbox on the assumption that the console’s USB port is sufficient. Xbox is absent from this model’s supported platform list. Quantum 100 offers an analogue connection through a compatible 3.5 mm socket; check your specific controller and headset settings.

Charging Quantum 350 does not replace its adapter
The USB port on Quantum 350 is for charging. Connecting a cable to your computer does not turn it into a wired USB headset: its wireless adapter is still needed for audio. This matters if the adapter is lost or you buy an incomplete set.
JBL specifies up to 22 hours of battery life and supports playing while charging. Actual runtime depends on use. Quantum 100 has no battery to manage; check that the cable length and routing work for your setup.
Microphone setup and positional audio
Both models have a detachable microphone. Record a short voice test after fitting it: check level, clipping and the selected app input. Position the microphone towards your mouth but out of the direct airflow of your breath. This is more useful than calling a microphone perfect without hearing a recording.
Do not choose by driver diameter: both use 40 mm drivers, but that number does not describe fit or tuning. Start testing your game in stereo, then compare it with one selected spatial mode. Enabling several processing layers together makes the result harder to assess.
When to consider Quantum One and 100M2
Quantum One is a separate wired USB model with active noise cancellation and QuantumSPHERE 360 head tracking on PC. Consider it for those features, rather than as a wireless step up from Quantum 350. Feature availability depends on platform and connection.
Quantum 100M2 is also a distinct model. If the original Quantum 100 is unavailable, open the 100M2 page and check its own specifications, colour and package contents. The table above covers the original Quantum 100; do not automatically apply those figures to M2.
Frequently asked questions
Does Quantum 350 work without its USB adapter?
The wireless connection described by JBL requires the adapter. Its USB charging cable does not replace it for audio.
Does Quantum 100 need charging?
No. It is a wired analogue headset with a 3.5 mm plug.
How do I choose for several devices?
List every device and its ports. Check audio, microphone and software features separately: compatibility for one does not guarantee the others.
