Both soundbars let you start a home cinema with a single unit beneath the TV. Your choice depends on whether you want Dirac Live room correction and how you plan to expand the system. Here are the differences worth checking before buying.

What the Core 300 upgrade buys you
The main differences are the 5.1.2 arrangement with side-firing drivers and Dirac Live. Those side channels add capabilities to the bar, but the unit still sits in front of you. A 5.1.2 label does not mean that a separate subwoofer and two rear speakers come in the box.
Before choosing, budget for the whole system: the bar, any additions and the space they require. If hearing effects behind you is the priority, compare Core 200 with compatible surrounds against Core 300 on its own. These are different configurations; the price of the bar alone does not tell you which meets your needs.
Dirac Live: what setup involves
Core 300 room correction starts with measurements. Klipsch instructs you to set up Connect Plus, connect the bar to Wi-Fi, install updates and attach the supplied measurement microphone. The app measures three microphone positions and saves the result as a preset. Setup through Dirac Live on PC/Mac is also available.
Turn off noisy appliances and keep the room quiet during measurement. Settle on the positions of the bar and furniture before running calibration. Our advice is to make time for this step; otherwise, one of Core 300’s main features will remain unused.

Your TV and Atmos: check the complete signal path
Use the TV port labelled ARC/eARC. Having an HDMI socket alone is not enough: check the TV manual, selected audio output and source format support. Atmos requires compatible content, a suitable app or player and correct audio passthrough from the TV.
Avoid placing the bar in an enclosed shelf with a panel directly above its up-firing drivers. Keep the sides of Core 300 clear too. Measure your cabinet and the gap below the screen before ordering; Core 200 is 111.8 cm wide and 7.8 cm tall. Check Core 300 dimensions separately in its product information and manual.
Planning system upgrades
A subwoofer and rear speakers do different jobs. Add a subwoofer for bass; add surrounds for separate sound sources behind the listener. Check compatibility for the exact Flexus models and confirm what the offer includes: a standalone bar and a bundle can have similar names.
Even with wireless additions, plan for power sockets near their installation positions. Identify the specific need—dialogue, bass or effects behind you—and choose the next component accordingly.
